Your first appointment with a physiotherapist at The Welwyn and Hatfield Practice takes about an hour. Our physiotherapist will conduct a thorough assessment by first asking you questions to form a treatment plan and diagnosis. A detailed case history this helps to identify which body tissues are most likely to be causing your condition. This is followed by a thorough physical examination including blood pressure and neural tests if needed. We will also observe and test those tissues to reach a clinical diagnosis. They will then discuss the treatment options and set agreed goals with you.
The treatment program may involve manual therapy, posture correction, advice and exercise. The aim of therapy is firstly to relieve pain and then to correct faulty posture or habits to try to prevent a recurrence of the original injury.
All our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Healthcare Professions Council
