Here at The Welwyn and Hatfield Practice we are as much about injury prevention as we are treatment and cure! We have put together some advice and tips for you. How can I prevent an Injury?

Personalised specific exercise programme

General exercise, keeping active and keeping fit

How do exercises prevent injury?

Improve strength and coordination which are needed to move in the correct way

Moving correctly minimises stress and strain on the body and specifically the joints

Building strength and mobility around the joints helps protect them

What types of exercises help?

General flexibility exercises

Strength and stability to promote good movement and control

Core strengthening exercises such as Pilates and Yoga

Sport specific exercises

General exercise such as walking has been proven to prevent low back pain

There is evidence to support that exercise is an effective prevention and treatment for knee pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, low back pain, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and chronic pain……SO GET MOVING!
